In line hockey vs Ice hockey

Although most of the people think that there is not any difference between “in line” hockey and ice hockey there are a huge mount. First of all, the main difference is obviously the type of court, while on “in line” hockey you usually play on a wooden floor, on ice hockey you play on a frozen water one. Because of this difference, it appears another one, the style of skate. On the first one, skates have four wheels of different size depending on how do you like to skate. On the other one, skates have a steel cleaver which allows you to slip through the court. There is also another big difference, the puc (the item used as a “ball” in this sport”), in ice hockey it is way heavier than in the other, and that is to help it slip in the ice.  Moreover, there are some differences too in the rules. While on ice hockey you can be really aggressive, on “in line” hockey you need to respect your enemies. Also there is an offside rule on the ice hockey that does not exist on the wheeled-skate one, making ice hockey a slower sport than the other. To sum up, ice hockey and in line hockey are similar in most of the things, but they still differ on many things such as some rules or items.

My grandfather Paco

Since I was born I have been a really lucky boy, I have had three parents. My grandfather Paco is not a very delicate person, he is close to be an ogre when he tries to do something, but despite of that he looked after me during my childhood with love and patience. The best two adjectives to describe him would be busy and patient. Although he needed to do all the housework on his and my home because my parents were always working, he always found a moment to go out with me telling me stories about how Torrevieja used to be. Moreover, all my friends still remember those moments when I was playing in the playground while he was running after me shouting: Antonio! Come here and eat your banana! (which was my favorite dessert). Even now, when he is too old, he continues doing every single thing for us and that is why I consider him my second father and my friend.

Bull fighting, tradition or murder?

Currently, Spanish people are divided due to a tradition, bulls fighting. But can we consider this as a tradition that should continue being active? I think not. Since bulls are animals they should have nearly the same rights as all of us, and because of that I cannot understand why should we play with them as if they were toys? They feel pain and they have feelings. Those two reasons should be more than enough to forbid this “party”. It is true that the bulls are an Spanish symbol that is hard to eliminate as if nothing had happened, but there are still other ways of keeping that symbol in our country. There exist some other types of performances which do not imply killing them after the show, like the people who just jump over them. To sum up, bulls are part of our Spanish lives, but we need to understand that the humanity is not over the rest of the living animals in the world.

Public transport: advantages and disadvantages

Nowadays, the contamination is becoming a bigger and bigger problem. There are many ways to try to not contaminate, but as the experts say, the best option is using the public transport. But why is it a good option? I will give examples of the advantages and disadvantages of this way of transport.

On the one hand, when you are at home and you want to go out fast, it is easier to take your own vehicle from your garage, so you do not have to wait for a bus or a train, arriving earlier to not too far distances. Moreover, when you are going with your family you prefer a personal situation, where only your family is present having more privacy. You can be who you really are.

On the other hand, contamination takes the importance. The fact that using personal transport like cars or motorbikes creates a huge emission that could be diminished if we use the public transport is a big truth.  In addition, if all the people use public transport, the traffic will be lower, and that does not only mean less noise or air contamination, that means that you could arrive to all the places as fast as you arrive there with your private transport.

In conclusion, I totally agree with the experts, the public transport is a nice way of moving from a place to the other, but until all the people realize about that, using private vehicles is the best way of transport.

Fear

Fear of finding my home lights turne don in the night.

Fear of not being what I’m supposed to be.

Fear of being someone different.

Fear of having to break a promise.

Fear of crowded places.

Fear of silence.

Fear of receiving big welcomes when I see my parents.

Fear of not having a destiny.

Fear of hugging a friend with a sad face.

Fear of laughing when someone cries.

Fear of being at home in a sunny day.

Fear of not learning enough, but still fear of the unknown.

Fear of hearing a door closing.

Fear of being scared.

And fear of fearing nothing.

Lisboa as a capital city

Whenever you imagine a capital city of any country you think that it should be enormous, full of national people and with a lot of different big business companies on it. But this isn’t always like that.

Actually, this summer I’ve visited Lisboa, capital city of Portugal, and after I spent some days there I realized that it isn’t a common capital for some different reasons.

First of all, I’ll speak about its shape. Although Lisboa is the capital of a not small European country, it is as big as Murcia can be and it has only a few more registered inhabitants. In addition the city was built on the top of eight big hills, making it be full of ramps that can be frustrating if you try to go for a walk.

Moreover, cultural places do not stray from fiction. The whole city seems to have been built to look like a “Disney Castle”, it isn’t realistic at all. Inside the big beautiful buildings there’s nothing but dust, only a few national people live in the middle of the capital and that’s the main reason why most of the buildings are just empty. The only people that you can find in the center of Lisboa are foreigners admiring the views that this “plastic city” offers them.

Apart from that there’s something else that claimed my attention. There, meals were amazingly common. In some other capitals were I’ve been, modern food used to be present on most of the big restaurants, but in Lisboa its traditional highly spiced food and its delightful cod was the main dish wherever I went.

Despite all I said Lisboa isn’t a bad city at all. If you go there for a few days you’ll enjoy and admire it, the problem is that you won’t enjoy the capital as much as you could because the whole city emits a false blinding shine that hide the most important and beautiful buildings.

New technologies

Currently, technologies are totally necessary in our common life. They appear everywhere: in medicine, transport, entertainment, studies... Its easy way to be used help us to do things that could cost us days or just be impossible in only a few minutes. But although new technologies can be really useful in that way, they can also be amazingly destructive for people who don’t use them correctly. The fact that people lost a huge capacity of memorizing is a big truth. Mobile phones, computers or even our watches are able to do or remember everything that our mind doesn’t want to do and this is creating a big addiction in the youngest people who, nowadays, can’t live without an internet connection. There isn’t other option than to teach all children at school how to use new technologies with brain to make its use productive and not a problem to solve.
